How do you identify a Sanitario product before requesting a replacement part?
Prepare a useful identification pack with the model code, finish, purchase record and photographs, without dismantling installed equipment.
Start with the installed item
Record where the item is fitted and what needs replacing: a pump, cover, lock, mounting component or the complete product. Give the item a temporary reference if your building has no equipment register. This lets staff and the supplier discuss the same unit without relying on “the dispenser near reception”.
Read any accessible label and retain its wording. Do not remove an electrical cover or detach wall-mounted equipment simply to search for a code. Where the identifier is hidden, ask a suitably competent person or the supplier how to locate it safely.
Separate the product code from your order reference
A shop order number identifies a transaction. A product code identifies an item, while a batch or serial number may identify a particular production unit. Keep these fields separate, even when an old invoice displays them close together.
Record the finish exactly as described in the purchase documentation. Satin stainless steel, polished steel and a coated surface can look different under bathroom lighting. Colour in a phone photograph is not a reliable specification of the finish or coating.
Make a small, relevant photograph set
Take an overall view showing the item, a clear view of an accessible label and a close view of the component in question. Include a scale only where it can be positioned safely without entering the mechanism. Photograph an empty room, avoiding guests, mirrors containing people and personal belongings.
Describe the fault separately from the identification. “The cover does not latch” helps the supplier ask a useful question. “Wrong lock” assumes a diagnosis you may not yet have confirmed. Do not force the cover to reproduce the problem.
Use the catalogue to narrow the search
The Sanitario catalogue at OLE.PL can help locate a candidate model and its listed finish. Sanitario belongs to Faneco; this is a commercial relationship, not an independent comparison. A catalogue listing does not by itself confirm that a spare part fits an older unit.
If the installed item differs from the current photograph, send the identification pack for confirmation before buying. Ask whether the proposed part is compatible with the installed revision and whether replacement is an operator task or requires service support.
| Field | Useful entry |
|---|---|
| Location | Building, room and equipment reference |
| Identification | Exact visible model code; serial or batch if present |
| Variant | Finish, capacity and relevant revision |
| Evidence | Purchase reference and photographs without people |
| Question | Part required and confirmation of compatibility |
Keep the confirmed answer with the equipment record
Save the confirmed part code and any applicable instructions against the installed unit. Check the delivered code before fitting. Do not treat an unconfirmed substitute as interchangeable because its dimensions appear close.
HSE guidance distinguishes inspection appropriate to the equipment and its risks from unnecessary routine formality. Use that principle to define who checks the result, while following the actual product instructions. This guide does not authorise electrical work or alteration of safety-related components.
Sources and documentation
Always follow the instructions for your particular equipment and cleaning product. General guidance does not replace model-specific documentation.
